Murder victim's family begs for answers two years later

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A family is renewing its effort to find the person who killed a Louisville father of four, two years ago.

22-year-old DaVonte Jackson was gunned down on June 9, 2014.

It happened in front of his apartment on Brick Kiln Road off Dixie Highway.

Witnesses described seeing two men dressed in black running from the scene.

Jackson's mother and his aunt say they want to know who pulled the trigger and why.

"We know that somebody knows something. And, we're just asking for closure for the family. Period. We need to know something," Tara Gregory, Jackson's aunt, said Wednesday.

"I just want to know who did it and get some answers. I really don't know. Nothing's going to bring him back. I just want some type of closure," Sophia Jackson, the victim's mother, said.

The family begs anyone who saw anything to call the Louisville Metro Police Department.

You can reach police, and remain anonymous, at 574-LMPD.
