New 'Recreational Education' program hopes to help kids impacted by violence

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Local children impacted by violent crime got the chance to have some fun on Saturday.

Rolling Video Games partnered with Ballin' For A Cause for a new project called Recreational Education.

The mobile arcade will allow kids to play games for free at events each month, where they will also learn life skills.

The goal is to help young people impacted by violence cope, and to teach them to avoid violence in the future.

"The only thing that's going to shift this deal for real, if we embrace it, is the whole idea of embracing education as a tool to not allow violence to even happen anymore," Community Activist Christopher 2X said.

The owner of Rolling Video Games said he, too, was impacted by violence as a child and wants to give back.
