LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One person was killed and three others were hospitalized in a multi-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of I-71 in Oldham County Tuesday morning.
Forty-eight-year-old Sherri Bray 48 of Pendleton died at the scene.
It happened around 9:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes at the 11.5 mile marker near the Gene Snyder Freeway.
"From what we can understand so far, traffic was slowed or stopped due to some construction that was taking place in Jefferson County, and the box truck was unable to come to a stop before hitting that silver car," said James Brown with the Oldham County police.
Brown said the silver car -- driven by Bray -- was forced under the semi truck in front of it.
"Two additional passenger cars were struck ... by that box truck," Brown said.
Three other people were taken to the hospital, but are expected to be OK.
