LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Thousands of PNC Bank ATMs in Kentucky and southern Indiana are getting an upgrade.
PNC Bank says it's making ATMs more secure and convenient for customers. The upgrades will allow ATMs to read debit cards that have security chips on them. Those are tougher to counterfeit than the traditional, magnetic strip-only cards.
The bank says the upgrade of 9,000 ATMs in the area should be done in about a month.
