CRESTWOOD, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have released the identities of three of the four young women involved in a fatal rollover crash that took place on I-71, near Crestwood, late Wednesday afternoon.
Of the four, two women died. Two teens are hospitalized with serious injuries. All four of the victims were from Harlan County, Kentucky.
The two women who died have been identified by Oldham County Police as 18-year-old Selena Gilbert, of Wallins Creek, Kentucky, and Tamara Daniels, a 20-year-old from Ages, Kentucky.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified by Oldham County Police as 17-year-old TC Somersall, of Cumberland, Kentucky. A 15-year-old passenger was also in the vehicle, but her identity is not being released. Both of them are at University Hospital, according to Harlan County Schools superintendent Brent Roark. He said one is a senior and the other a sophomore at Harlan County High School.
Roark said one of the women who died was a 2018 graduate of the high school.
The southbound lanes of Interstate 71 were closed for nearly eight hours, as Oldham County Police investigated the crash.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Oldham County Police Department.
