LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a Louisville man authorities say stabbed three people.
Loren Ashby, 25, was arrested on Sunday.
According to an arrest report, on Sunday officers went to Ashby's home in the 1700 block of Edenside, near the area of Eastern Parkway and Bardstown Road, after someone reported a stabbing.
Police say Ashby's roommate said he'd hit her in the face and placed her in a choke hold, which caused her to almost lose consciousness. Ashby's roommate then said she scratched him several times in order to get away.
Ashby's roommate then called her boyfriend to come pick her up. Her boyfriend came to the home, along with his roommate. Police say the two men saw Ashby's roommate with a bloody mouth.
The two men, along with Ashby's roommate, then went inside the home to confront Ashby. All three entered Ashby's girlfriend's room, where Ashby, his girlfriend and another roommate were located.
Police say the victims stated that Ashby "came at them with a knife" and stabbed the two men several times. According to police, Ashby also stabbed his roommate in the back.
According to authorities, one of the victims was stabbed 11 times, which included a large cut to the face. That victim also suffered a punctured lung and a skull fracture.
A third victim was stabbed once in the head, once in the neck, once in the arm and twice in the back, according to police.
Two of the victims were taken to U of L Hospital for treatment.
Authorities say Ashby ran away, but went to a police station hours later and gave a statement where he admitted to stabbing two of the victims. Officials say Ashby claimed he was acting in self defense.
Ashby is charged with three counts of first-degree assault.
He was arraigned in court on Monday morning.
