LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Several charitable organizations in Louisville will receive a $90,000 grant thanks to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
The grants focus on healthcare, medical research, education and social responsibility.
The funds have been used for everything from aqua treadmills and iPads to kitchen renovations and art supplies. Some of the 19 charities awarded include Boys and Girls Club of Kentuckiana, Hosparus, Home of the Innocents and New Hope Services.
"It kind of warms your heart," said Art Davenport, a McDonald's owner/operator in Louisville. Especially this time of year, it's cold out and we just went through the holidays. And you see all the people that are struggling in the community. And we love to help them out and make sure their days are brighter."
Four cents of every Happy Meal sold goes to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
