LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man accused of shooting and killing the mother of his daughter along with two people they were staying with inside a Pleasure Ridge Park home earlier this year was in court Monday.
Christopher Olivo is charged with murder, kidnapping, criminal abuse, and unlawful imprisonment. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf in court Monday afternoon.
After the shootings, police say Olivo took his 2-year-old daughter to Florida. That's where he was arrested by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Violent Crime Task Force on Jan. 13.
Olivo's arrest came a day after the bodies of the victims -- 39-year-old Geneva Miles, 24-year-old Catherine Miles and 27-year-old Mike Miles -- were found in a home in the 6400 block of Venango Drive near Pleasure Ridge Park High School, on Jan. 12.
Police believe the victims may been dead for at least a day before they were found.
Authorities say a 4-year-old boy and 2-year-old girl belonging to Catherine and Mike Miles were located in a closed bedroom unharmed.
Police were able to keep track of Olivo's movements because the Chevy Cruze he was driving was equipped with OnStar.
LMPD began coordinating with Kentucky State Police and technicians from OnStar, along with law enforcement in Florida, before closing in on his location.
Police say Olivo had already left his daughter with relatives in Florida before police there caught up with him.
When officers in Florida took Olivo into custody, they say he was wearing a ballistic vest and had an AK-47 on the passenger seat.
Elizabeth Chiavetta, who lives in Florida, is Mike and Geneva's cousin. She says Olivo was in a long-term relationship with Geneva, and the two had been living with Geneva's brother, Mike, and his wife Catherine, after moving to Louisville from Florida.
Chiavetta said Olivo seemed very angry with Geneva, and that Mike had tried to calm him down before the shootings.
Olivo remained in Florida until he was brought back to Louisville late last week.
The judge set Olivo's bond at $1 million. A public defender will be appointed to represent him.
