TARC to soon boast second-largest fleet of electric buses in America

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- TARC is making adjustments to try to save some under-performing routes.

The Transit Authority of River City is working to continue providing service to all parts of the community. So some routes will have fewer runs and others will make changes to the route buses run.

Here are the changes TARC riders can expect:

Rt. #15 - Market St.

Minor routing changes are proposed to avoid delays at the railroad crossing on LaGrange Road and UPS Drive.

Rt. #19 - Muhammad Ali Blvd.

Service changes involve a reduction in the number of trips. But other routes including #15, #21, #23 and #31 offer service in the same area or in a close walking distance, so TARC says impact will be minimal. Also construction at Oxmoor Mall and Beecher Terrace means temporary stops will be established in those areas.

Rt. #20 - Riverport Circulator

Routing and schedule adjustments are being made to improve connections between Valley High School and JCTC Southwest. The changes will mean daily service to Riverport and easier transfers to Routes #18 - Preston - Dixie and #63 - Crums Ln. Riders will be able to arrive at Riverport in 30-minute intervals in the morning and evening peak hours.

Rt. #23 - Broadway

Frequency will be adjusted from 13 to 16 mins. on Broadway between Shawnee Park and Bardstown Rd. at Taylorsville Rd. and from 36 to 48 mins. on other areas along the route.

Passengers are being advised to check the updated schedules and maps at www.ridetarc.org. For more information, please contact TARC Customer Service at 502.585.1234.
