LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A third worker has been fired from an Elizabethtown juvenile detention center after a teenage girl died in custody.
The Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet spokesman says Christopher Johnson was fired on April 15. Officials say Johnson allegedly failed to perform bed checks and falsified logs.
The findings came after an investigation into the death of 16-year-old Gynnya McMillen. She was found unresponsive in her cell in January.
An autopsy report concluded she died from a rare heart condition.
Two other employees have been fired and face misdemeanor charges stemming from the investigation.
