U of L president holds forum to discuss university's relationship with west Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- University of Louisville President Dr. Neeli Bendapudi is four months into her new job and said she's interested in doing more listening and less talking.

Bendapudi was part of a forum Monday night discussing U of L's relationship with west Louisville and the African-American community. Kentucky State Sen. Gerald Neal also took part in the event hosted at the Yearlings Club.

"I'm hoping that everybody knows that they're truly welcome at the university," Bendapudi said. "I want to know what are the barriers to getting into the university, what is is like for them to work with the university."

Bendapudi said she's participated in several other community chats recently, asking for feedback in Jeffersonville and Elizabethtown.
