LOUISVILLE, Ky (WDRB) -- The southbound lanes of I-65 re-opened hours after a fatal crash that took place in Bullitt County Monday morning.
Police say Jessie Maxwell, 36, died in one of two separate accidents involving several vehicles on the interstate.
The incidents took place in the southbound lanes of I-65, near mile marker 117 just before 6 a.m.
Police say they "lost track" of the number of vehicles that had to be towed from the scene. One vehicle was on fire, according to troopers on the scene.
Six other people who were injured in the crashes were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
