Volunteers work to bring new life to Louisville's Elliott Park

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Spreading mulch and repainting to bring new life to a park that was in desperate need of repair, volunteers spent their Saturday morning cleaning up Elliott Park.

Some of the chores to be done included weeding and landscape work, but one of the biggest tasks was cleaning up the neglected bathroom building.

"We wanted to make it where everyone would come and enjoy ... the young, the old, the seniors and everything else, so we just want some kind of improvement," said clean-up organizer, Lawrence Tobert.

Olmstead Parks Conservancy hosted the event.

The park is located in West Louisville between 28th and 29th streets.

Clean-up at the park will continue Tuesday night.
