LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new veterans memorial at Waggener High School is scheduled to be dedicated Monday evening.
The memorial pays tribute to seven students killed in Vietnam. The names of the students are etched in stone at the high school.
Chris Johnson was a classmate of the fallen students, and it was his idea to establish a memorial.
"I've come over here late at night and I've seen guys on motorcycles sitting over here by themselves, and it will bring you to tears," he said. "That's what it's about for me."
The bricklaying ceremony at the memorial is scheduled for 6 p.m. The path is the final part of the project.
Stones can still be purchased and dedicated to other veterans as well.
