Wedding show allows local businesses to network, get ideas

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Summer may be the busiest time for weddings but it's never too early to start planning.

Sunday afternoon, the St. Matthews Chamber of Commerce held their first annual Happy Ever After Wedding Show at Tom Sawyer State Park.

It was a one-stop-shop for brides and grooms to get ideas and talk with DJs, production companies, bakers and dress retailers.

Brides could also register to win a free engagement photo session.

What sets the event apart from others is that it is the only of its kind where other wedding businesses can network, support each other and get ideas.

"Our goal is to engage our members and potential brides and grooms that they have worked with all in one location all at once," said Josh Suiter from the Chamber of St. Matthews.

Even though it was the first year, organizers say they're happy with the turnout.
