Ramps to shut down on I-65 for construction

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some roads in the Louisville area will be affected by construction this weekend.

Drivers could encounter some delays on I-65, as crews are paving and striping the road. It's part of the Ohio River Bridges Project.

As of right now, drivers on I-65 North will not be able to get on I-64 or I-71. The ramp from Liberty Street will also be closed, as well as two lanes of I-65 North from Liberty Street to the Junction.

The ramps are expected to re-open by Monday morning.

Drivers can follow signs for detours to use I-265 and I-264.

Also, the new ramp connecting Muhammad Ali Boulevard to I-65 North is expected to open this weekend ahead of schedule.

Indiana crews will be working on re-surfacing I-64 over the weekend.

Beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday through 12 p.m. Sunday, the two right lanes of I-64 West will be closed about a mile past the Sherman Minton Bridge.

On Sunday morning, the westbound ramp to U.S. 150 will close for repairs through Monday morning.

Work will happen every weekend through October except during the weekends for Thunder Over Louisville and the Kentucky Derby.
