Former UK board chairman Miles charged with rape, sodomy

MARION COUNTY, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police say one woman and one teen were killed in a crash that happened late Friday night in Marion County.

According to a news release, the crash happened around 11:20 p.m. on East Lovers Lane, six miles west of Lebanon, Kentucky.

Police say 18-year-old David Lawson was driving east in a 2008 Ford F250 when he lost control of his car, left the road and hit a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner.

A passenger inside the vehicle, 21-year-old Shelby Goode, was airlifted to U of L Hospital, where she died, according to police.

Officials say another passenger, a 19-year-old male, was taken to Springview Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

According to police, none of the occupants inside the vehicle were wearing seatbelts.
