Scott Reynolds joined the WDRB news team in August of 2019 after working 23 years as an anchor and reporter in Louisville.
Scott grew up milking cows and baling hay on a dairy farm in Zumbrota, Minnesota, about an hour from Minneapolis. Most of his family still lives there and his brother runs the farm that the family started in 1872.
Because his older brother took over the farm, Scott headed off to college to study broadcast communications. He started his career as a Sports Director in Northern Idaho, then moved into radio news in Michigan and Minnesota, eventually landing a TV news job in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. That led to news and sports jobs in Las Vegas and Minneapolis, before his arrival in the Bluegrass. He’s covered presidential inaugurations, the Bush v Gore Supreme Court decision, the World Series, a Super Bowl, Final Fours and the Stanley Cup Finals.
Scott is the proud father of five children who work and go to school in Kentucky. When he’s not covering the news, you will find him following his passion for sports. He’s suffered through four Super Bowl losses for his beloved Minnesota Vikings. After playing four sports at various times through school, Scott can still be found shooting hoops or playing baseball, or just hitting the gym for some intense cardio training. For entertainment, you’re bound to see him at games or fulfilling his lifelong love of music at a local concert.
Scott loves telling stories and would love to hear from you. Send story ideas to ScottReynolds@wdrb.com.
