LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Louisville City reclaimed the top spot in the USL East with a 2-0 victory at FC Cincinnati Saturday night.
Cameron Lancaster’s goal in the 15th minute carried Lou City to a 1-0 halftime lead. George Davis IV added another Louisville goal in the 73rd minute to give the Boys in Purple the 2-0 victory in front of an announced crowd of more than 26,000 at Cincinnati’s Nippert Stadium.
Louisville City has a bye week and then hosts the MLS’s New England Revolution at U of L’s Lynn Stadium Tuesday night in the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.
Cincinnati is expected to be named as an MLS expansion team next week. A news conference is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon in the Queen City.
