LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Ville is back for another run at the $1 million winner-take-all prize in the third season of The Basketball Tournament.
Monday, The Ville announced two more roster additions, former Cardinal David Johnson and Louisville native David Sloan. They join former Cards Montrezl Harrell and Russ Smith with Luke Hancock as head coach.Â
"Being involved, from my perspective, as like a basketball analyst, I've always said it is nice because I don't have the stress of wins and losses, that pressure necessarily, so I think I'm excited so for the challenge," Hancock said. "You definitely feel the pressure, because we want to have this roster done, we want to have all the pieces in place, but again the tough part is how you have to build it."
Johnson, who made his TBT debut last summer, played at Louisville from 2019-21, declaring for the 2021 NBA Draft. He was drafted by the Toronto Raptors, and played one year on their G League. He has also played for the G League's Memphis Hustle.Â
Again this year, TBT is awarding home court advantage throughout the entire tournament for the first fanbase to buy 4,000 tickets.
Tickets go on sale to the general public Tuesday, May 6, at 10 a.m., and can be purchased here.Â
TBT Louisville Regional tips off July 19 at Freedom Hall.Â
