LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Human remains were found Saturday afternoon at McNeely Lake Park in Louisville.
Officer Adam Sears, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded just before 12:30 p.m. after receiving a report of the remains at the park.
Police said they found a deceased man. LMPD’s Homicide Unit is investigating. Police didn't say how the victim was killed.
Frequent park goers like Patrick Littlejohn were surprised to find out about the incident.
"I've never heard of anything major happening here," he said. "It's shocking, but I don't think it changes the feel of the park or changes me coming here."
Although the incident doesn't discourage Littlejohn from his weekly park visits, he has a saying he lives by.
"I always say no matter what, no matter where you are, always be aware of your surroundings head on a swivel type of thing. Regardless of where you're at, whether you're at the park or out in the city somewhere else," Littlejohn said.
