LOUISVILLE, KY (WDRB) -- A domestic dispute turns into an attempted murder and suicide in Mount Washington, Kentucky.
It happened just after midnight at an apartment complex on West Avenue.
Bullitt Co. sheriff's detective Scotty McGaha says 26-year-old Nathaniel Gabbard of Mount Washington shot and wounded another man in the face, before Gabbard turned a gun on himself.
Gabbard had come to the apartment of his ex-girlfriend, confronted and shot the other man, then broke into that apartment and killed himself.
The man wounded is expected to survive his injuries according to McGaha.
Doctors were treating him early Sunday morning at University Hospital in Louisville.
After being shot, he called 911 on his cell phone and sought further help at a nearby convenience store.
