Southeast Christian Church expands in southwest Louisville

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The area's largest congregation is about to get bigger.

Southeast Christian Church is planning a new campus in southwestern Jefferson County off Dixie Highway.

It will be the church's third regional campus, where people can watch the service without driving to the Blankenbaker campus.

They will be located right next to Christian Academy, and plan to share resources with the school.

Southeast believes it can attract people who don't go to church now.

Dave Stone, Southeast's Senior Pastor, says, "It's great to hear the community say we need more people, we need more churches and we need more people preaching the gospel. It's really affirming and it shows we're all on the same team."

Construction at the new site begins this fall.

The new campus is scheduled to open next fall, in 2013.
