Chris Thieneman back behind bars; accused of intimidating ex-girlfriend
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)---A well known Louisville businessman and former political candidate is back behind bars, after authorities say he intimidated his ex-girlfriend.
An arrest report shows that Chris Thieneman was arrested on Thursday.
According to a warrant, he accused in an incident that took place in late April at Snap Fitness on Dixie Highway.
The owner, who is Thieneman's ex-girlfriend, claims he had the doors to her business removed, leaving it open to the public.
He owns the building where the business is located.
"I did notice awhile back that they blocked off that side, that exercise room- they did block that off," said Aaron Harris, a member of Snap Fitness.
The warrant states on May 1st, Thieneman instructed his employees to remove plywood that had been placed in the front doors. It states that they then filled the room with old equipment that didn't belong to the victim.
"It was just a room you could go into and work out with a video. It was kinda like having a trainer on tv to work out with," said Harris.
Outside of the business, you can still see remnants of glass.
Thieneman is charged with violation of a EPO/DVO, and retaliating against a participant in a legal process.
Last year, Thieneman was accused of trying to choke his ex-girlfriend during an argument.
He was charged with assault and wanton endangerment.
That case is still playing out in court and a trial is set for June 9th.
Thieneman is well known. He was a U of L football player and has tried running for both Mayor and Senate.
He's now facing more charges and is expected to appear in court on Friday for what happened at the business.
The warrant also says he had employees harass and intimidate the victim.
Thieneman remains behind bars at Metro Corrections.
We did reach out to Thieneman's attorney, but have not received a call back.
