Louisville City announces signings of Adam West and Sean Reynolds

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville City FC announced two more player signings Tuesday, adding U.S. players Adam West and Sean Reynolds.

The announcement for the USL-Pro team comes while head coach James O'Connor is scouting more talent at the MLS Combine in Florida. The professional soccer team is just weeks away from beginning training before starting play at Louisville Slugger Field in March.

Former Seattle Sounder Adam West comes to Louisville after playing only two games with the Seattle Sounders U-23 team in the USL Premier Development League last season due to a torn ACL.

The Washington native had a standout youth career with Bellarmine Preparatory High School. West was part of the 2004 Washington High School State Championship team, which also finished the season ranked number one in the nation.

"Adam was without a doubt one of the best players at the professional combine we hosted in November," head coach James O'Connor said. "He will provide a great attacking threat for us from left full-back, and we are extremely pleased to have someone of Adam's ability on board for our inaugural season."

West has played in several domestic leagues, including the North American Soccer League, but spent his first year with the Seattle Sounders in the USL First Division. He was left of the roster the following year in 2009 when the Seattle Sounders re-allocated much of their assets to the new MLS franchise Seattle Sounders FC.

Reynolds returns to the U.S. after a brief stint with Icelandic side Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar (good luck saying that Coopers). Reynolds played three seasons in the USL's Premier Development League prior to becoming a professional including one season with the Orlando City U-23 squad.

The Fort Walton Beach, Florida native also played with former USL PRO side VSI Tampa Bay FC, where he scored his first professional goal against the Los Angeles Blues.

"Sean gained great experience while playing in the Premier League in Iceland and the Europa League," O'Connor said. "He can play a number of positions and will be a great asset that gives us flexibility in our first season,"

The pair joins three other announced signings in Guy Abend, Juan Guzman and Kadeem Dacres. Abend joins the roster from the Israeli Premier League, while Guzman and Dacres were brought in from other USL-Pro sides.

More players may already be under contract but could be awaiting US Soccer Federation approval to be announced.

The team is slated to being pre-season Feb. 16 with a schedule that should be announced soon.
