LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Homicide detectives are investigating two separate shootings that killed three people.

The first shooting happened about  10 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of 39th and Garfield in the Shawnee neighborhood. LMPD says two men in their 20's were found dead in a white Dodge Charger with a Missouri license plate.

Two miles away and about three hours later, police were called to investigate shots fired in the Russell neighborhood. When officers arrived at a house on Eastlawn Avenue, they found a man in his 40s or 50s dead from a gunshot.  Investigators are trying to determine whether he lived at the home.

LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley says "we're still trying to investigate if anyone was inside the residence. Also, we're trying to determine suspects, if they are male, female, if there are one or more suspects."

Police won't say whether the two shootings are related. But they are asking anyone with information to call the LMPD Tipline at 574-LMPD.  You can remain anonymous.
