More than 100 Louisville teens getting summer jobs at UPS

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More than 100 Louisville teenagers will be getting summer jobs with UPS.

UPS will employ high school juniors as young as 17-years-old to work at its Worldport Shipping Hub. It's part of Louisville's SummerWorks program.

The students will be able to transition to the School-to-Work program, where students attend high school in the morning, work at UPS later in the day and take college courses.

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer says there will be a stronger focus this year on placing students in jobs that match up with what they are learning in school. He also says it's up to everyone in the community to help youth succeed.

There will be about 2,750 positions available for young people this summer.
