LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Firefighters responded to a house fire in east Louisville Sunday afternoon.

The fire was in the 3800 block of Riveroaks Lane, near the intersection of Charter Oaks Drive and Chamberlain Lane. The initial reports came in just before 6:45 p.m. Sunday.

According to dispatchers, the fire became so intense at one point that the firefighters who were trying to put the fire out had to evacuate the home.

Fire officials say at least one person was home at the time of the fire. Everyone made it out safely, but the house suffered a lot of damage.

"There is extensive damage," said Kevin Groody, fire chief of Worthington Fire Department. "I can't say if it's complete damage -- and at this point in time, it is under investigation."

No injuries were reported.
