Victim identified after fatal shooting Tuesday on Cecil Avenue

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- LMPD  investigating a fatal shooting Tuesday morning on Cecil Avenue.

Officials say the shooting happened in the 1000 block of Cecil Avenue near Greenwood Avenue.

Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell says officers found a man dead inside a home around 3 a.m. Mitchell says the victim died from at least one gunshot wound, but it's not clear how many times the victim was shot.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identifies the victim as 33-year-old Zemenfes Tekle. 

Tekle, who died of a single gunshot wound to the head, was from Ethiopia and had lived in Louisville for about a year and a half.  He has family in Ethiopia.  

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating. There have been no arrests made in connection with the case.
