LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Nelson County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at a Bardstown woman's home Thursday afternoon -- and they say the search was related to the disappearance of Crystal Rogers.

Last year, the Bardstown mother of five's car was found on the Bluegrass Parkway with a flat tire, her purse, phone, keys and diaper bag still inside.

On Thursday afternoon, the Nelson County Sheriff's Office confirmed that they had executed a search warrant at the home of Anna Whitesides.

Whitesides is the grandmother of the prime suspect in the case, Brooks Houck, who was also Rogers' boyfriend.

A spokesperson for the sheriff's office says deputies spent four hours at the home Thursday afternoon.

Last week, police served Brooks Houck's brother, Nick Houck, with a search warrant. Nick Houck was terminated from the Bardstown Police Department last fall for interfering with an ongoing investigation into Rogers' disappearance.

"I've always thought that he was involved with Brooks, so maybe they'll get what they need to prove he was involved," said Tommy Ballard, Crystal Rogers' father.

Police would not say what they were searching for in either case, except that it's related to Rogers' disappearance.

The findings of the warrants may not be known for months, but the Ballards are feeling a mix of emotions as they come one step closer to finding out what happened to their daughter.

"I'm happy that something has happened, but it's not going to be happy when we find out what happened to Crystal," Ballard said last week.
