Grayson County teacher charged with rape
Kentucky State Police say they received a complaint Monday of alleged inappropriate behavior between a teacher and a juvenile student in the Grayson County School system.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A popular Grayson County school teacher has been charged with rape.
Gavin Logsdon, 30, teaches business and marketing at Grayson County High School, and is also the head baseball coach.
Tuesday afternoon, Logsdon was arrested by Kentucky State Police, and charged with third degree rape.
Police say on Monday they received a complaint of alleged inappropriate behavior between Logsdon and a student.
He was arrested the next day, and booked into the Grayson County Detention Center
Logsdon was later released on $5,000 bond.
Grayson County Schools Superintendent Doug Robinson issued the following statement:
Tuesday afternoon, district officials were informed that Gavin Logsdon, a teacher at Grayson County High School, was arrested by Kentucky State Police. We are cooperating fully with law enforcement and remain committed to taking steps to ensure the well-being of our students and staff.
Logsdon is considered a local hero. He had a successful baseball career at the University of Louisville, and was team co-captain in 2009.
