Three JCPS high schools ranked among Kentucky's best by U.S. News & World Report

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Three high schools in Jefferson County Public Schools are among the best in Kentucky, according to a U.S. News & World Report list published Wednesday.

DuPont Manual High School tops the list of state high schools and ranks 152nd nationally with a 100 percent graduation rate and 79.3 college readiness score.

Atherton High School ranks sixth in Kentucky and 580th nationally, according to U.S. News & World Report. The school has a 94 percent graduation rate and scores 55.4 in college readiness.

Ballard High School finished ninth on the list and 867th nationally with a 93 percent graduation rate and a 48.2 college readiness score.

“It’s always an honor to receive national recognition for the work we’re doing here in JCPS,” JCPS Superintendent Marty Pollio said in a statement. 

“I’m extremely proud of all of our teachers and students, and I congratulate the three schools in the top 10 and the six schools in the top 20.  We know there’s more work to do, but it’s important to note that we have great things happening every day in every classroom in every school in this district.” The complete list of top Kentucky high schools is:

  2. Highlands High School in Fort Thomas
  3. Beechwood High School in Fort Mitchell
  4. North Oldham High School in Goshen
  5. South Oldham High School in Crestwood
  6. Atherton
  7. Glasgow High School in Glasgow
  8. Murray High School in Murray
  9. Ballard
  10. Henry Clay High School in Lexington

  1. Signature High School in Evansville
  2. Herron High School in Indianapolis
  3. Zionsville Community High School in Zionsville
  4. West Lafayette Junior/Senior High School in Lafayette
  5. Carmel High School in Carmel
  6. Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers
  7. Munster High School in Munster
  8. Floyd Central High School in Floyd Knobs
  9. Fishers High School in Fishers
  10. Yorktown High School in Yorktown
