LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A woman is recovering in the hospital after an early Saturday morning shooting in Louisville's Algonquin neighborhood.
Louisville Metro Police responded to an initial ShotSpotter call in the 1600 block of South 11th Street near Brashear Drive about 5 a.m. according to LMPD spokesperson Sgt. Matt Sanders.
The call was upgraded to a shooting as officers were on the way to the scene. Upon arrival, officers found a woman in her 40's who had been shot in the back and shoulder, Sanders said.
The woman was transported to UofL Hospital, and Sanders said she is expected to survive.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating.
