LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 52-year-old woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting on Aug. 28 in the Algonquin neighborhood.

Officers were called to the 2300 block of West Gaulbert Avenue on a Shotspotter call around 10:20 p.m., Louisville Metro Police Spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said in a statement. That's near Algonquin Park, between South 23rd and South 25th streets.

Once on scene, police found a woman who had been shot. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Mitchell.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim Thursday as Juanita Watkins.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating, but has no suspects and has made no arrests.
