LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was found dead Monday morning along the shore of the Ohio River near the Louisville & Indiana Railroad Bridge.
Louisville Metro Police spokesman Aaron Ellis said dispatchers were notified by the Coast Guard around 9:15 a.m. Monday that someone believed they saw a body in a wooded area near the shoreline. The bridge connects with the Kentucky side of the river in the area of 16th Street and Northwestern Parkway.
The LMPD River Unit and Louisville Fire & Rescue responded to the scene to find a body near the location.
Ellis said the LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the case, awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine cause of death and more identifying information.
