LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Fans of country music legend, the late Loretta Lynn, want a state park named after her.
A petition was started on Change.org, and has already gotten nearly its goal of 25,000 signatures, according to LEX18.
The petition asks Kentucky's General Assembly to rename Paintsville Lake State Park to "Loretta Lynn State Park." The park, located in Johnson County, is also the county Lynn grew up in. Johnson County is about three hours east of Louisville.Â
Petition organizers hope to get the petition to the Assembly this year.
Lynn died in October 2022.Â
