LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Motorists will soon be seeing highway signage along Kentucky roads advertising the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center.
Highway signs will be installed in six different locations along the interstates near the complex in west Louisville. According to a news release, the permanent signs are a testament to the complex's impact on the community.
“Now, everyone traveling this stretch of highway will know how much we value the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center,” said Gov. Andy Beshear in a news release.
In the three years the complex has been open, it has hosted the first-ever Kentucky High School Athletic Associations Indoor State and the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships, AAU Cheerleading National Championships, Kentucky Derby Festival concerts, and the Louisville Urban League Derby Gala. The location helps bring growth and revitalization to the city's Russell neighborhood.
“The impact of the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center extends far beyond its walls, reaching into every corner of our community and touching the lives of individuals and businesses in profound ways,” Lyndon Pryor, president of Louisville Urban League, said in a news release.
