LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle branches will extend their hours of operation on Monday, November 5th from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, November 6th from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to issue ID cards and driver's licenses that can be used as identification while voting.

The Mount Vernon license branch will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.

They will only process new, amended, or replacement ID cards and renewed, amended, or replacement driver's licenses, learner's permits, and CDLs.

Free ID cards will be provided to any Hoosier without a driver's license who has proper identification and is old enough to vote.

All license branches will resume regular business hours on Wednesday, November 7.

  • Proof of Identity document, such as a birth certificate or passport. 
  • Proof of Social Security document, such as a Social Security card, pay stub or W-2. 
  • Proof of lawful status, such as a birth certificate or passport.
  • Proof of residency, two documents such as a voter registration card, utility bill or bank statement.
