LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two Indiana State Troopers were injured Wednesday morning when a semi-truck crashed into their patrol car on Interstate 69.
Kylen Compten, 35, and Taylor Fox, 25, were diverting traffic out of the left lane in their marked Dodge Charger with emergency lights on when the truck crossed into the lane and slammed into the back of the patrol car, according to a release from Indiana State Police.
The patrol car was pushed into the guardrail as the truck, which was hauling a load of soybeans, hit another car, police said.
The truck's driver, 67-year-old Gary Pride, and the driver of the other car, 45-year-old JoAnna Cochren, were not injured.
Pride was cited for failing to yield the right of way to a stationary emergency vehicle.
I-69 southbound was shut down for a while as crews cleaned up the crash site.
According to Indiana State Police, Trooper Fox was training with trooper Compten for the day. Both troopers were transported to Deaconess Gateway Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
