LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police have arrested a Danville, Ky. youth minister they say was exchanging nude images with a 15-year-old girl.
According to a news release, 29-year-old Jonathan David Hall was arrested by the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch Tuesday as a result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation involving a girl he came in contact with through church.
Police say they were initially contacted by the Lexington Division of Police after they were contacted by the mother of a 15-year-old girl. The mother allegedly discovered inappropriate text messages and e-mail communication sent to her daughter from an unknown person. Through investigation, Lexington police allegedly discovered that the suspect was located in Boyle County, Ky. At that time, Lexington Police contacted the KSP Electronic Crime Branch.
The teen told detectives she'd been communicating with the unknown person after he texted her cell phone looking for another girl. The man claimed to be an 18-year-old UK student named Zachary Blight Carter. She said their conversations via e-mail and text messaging quickly became sexual. She allegedly sent the man a couple of nude photos of herself at his request, and he sent her a nude photo as well.
The investigation led to a home in Danville, where detectives executed a search warrant.
Hall was arrested and charged with the unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual relations, according to police.
Police say they uncovered nude photos of other juvenile girls, who appear to reside in other states. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may follow.
Anyone with information about a person using the alias Zachary Blight Carter is asked to contact Det. Cassandra Mullins with KSP at (502) 782-9769.
