LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new family-friendly restaurant is opening in Jeffersonville this week.

Union Restaurant and Game Yard held its grand opening Thursday and its ribbon cutting Wednesday. The restaurant will serve both BBQ and traditional american dishes and offer a variety of craft beer.

To create the space, developers had to transform asphalt into AstroTurf and add a stage and umbrellas. The game area now sits in the old parking lot behind Parlour Pizza near the intersection of Pearl and Chestnut Streets.

"We're glad to be in Jeffersonville, I represent Southern Hospitality, a group that we own that has a couple projects in New Albany, Corydon and this is our first one in Jeffersonville. We're very excited to be in Jeffersonville, we've been welcomed with open arms," said Co-owner of Southern Hospitality Bobby Bass.

The outdoor space features a large patio with nine different games including, ping pong, corn hole, trash can beer pong, curling and futpool. People can reserve a game for one hour and fifteen minute time slots starting at $50.

Private cabanas with TVs and swings will also be available for reservation.

It can be found near the foot of the Big Four Bridge at 115 W Chestnut Street. The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and from 11 a.m. until midnight Friday and Saturday.
