LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Postseason college basketball returns to west Louisville this week as Simmons College of Kentucky hosts the 2026 NCCAA Division II Mideast Regional Men’s Basketball Championship.

The tournament runs Thursday, Feb. 26, through Friday, Feb. 27, at the St. Stephen Family Life Center.

The Falcons, entering as the No. 1 seed in the Mideast Region, will compete against Boyce College and Welch College for the regional title and a shot at the NCCAA Division II National Championship.

Led by Head Coach Djuan Wheat, a former University of Louisville guard recognized for his standout collegiate career.

"We are excited to host the NCCAA Division II Mideast Regional Championship and welcome teams, fans, and families to Louisville," said Jerry Eaves, athletic director at Simmons College. "This tournament showcases high-level competition and our commitment to athletics, excellence, and community."
