LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The westbound lanes of the Gene Snyder Freeway reopened early Friday after a truck carrying tar used to make asphalt overturned and spilled its load on the road.
It happened about 6:30 p.m. Thursday near Stonestreet Road in southwest Louisville.
Both the Snyder Freeway and the ramp from National Turnpike were closed for about 10 hours for the cleanup. Crews had a tough time getting the asphalt off the road after it congealed, so they were forced to use high-pressure steam.
No one was hurt. No word yet on what caused the crash.
