LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Independent Pilots Association, which represents UPS pilots, say the results of a strike authorization vote will be announced on Friday.
A news release from the Independent Pilots Association says the results of the strike authorization vote are scheduled to be announced Friday morning around 10:30.
According to IPA's website, the Independent Pilots Association is the collective bargaining unit which represents the more than 2,600 professional pilots who fly in service of UPS.
If strike authorization is approved, the IPA's executive board will be able to formally request a release from federally-mediated negotiations with UPS. The executive board will also have the discretion to conduct a strike once mediation concludes.
UPS and its pilots started negotiations back in August 2011.
