LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man is in custody after police say he stabbed his two roommates in Shively, killing one of them.

Shively Police were called to a house on Neblett Avenue near Ralph Avenue around 1:45 p.m. Monday. They found a woman's body in the driveway. She died. A man at the house was also suffering from knife wounds to his body and hands. Medics rushed him to the hospital, but not before he named their attacker.

The victim told police that Chadwick Michael York attacked them after they confronted York about breaking into their vehicle, according to a police report. Detectives found a large knife in the basement of the home on Neblett Avenue, according to the arrest report. That's where police believe the attack happened.

Police arrested York on Ralph Avenue after he tried to break into a home, according the criminal citation. Police say they found broken glass and York's cell phone inside that home.

York was initially scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning on charges of murder, assault, burglary and criminal mischief. However, a sheriff's deputy says York was not in court on Tuesday because he has lice.

Officials say he will be arraigned once the lice is cleared up.
