LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Toyota and Nissan have expanded an airbag recall to include another 6.5 million cars.

The airbags may explode, sending shrapnel toward drivers and passengers.

The airbags come from the Japanese company Takata.

At least five deaths have been connected to the faulty airbags.

The airbags are behind the recent recall of several million cars.

Cars involved in the latest recall were produced between 2003 and 2007.
