Several years ago, a different administration at U of L made a series of unfortunate knee jerk decisions. Tom Jurich and Rick Pitino were unceremoniously shown the door. Both were later vindicated, but it was too late. They were gone.

The current administration recognizes the significant contribution Jurich and Pitino made to the university. They invited Tom Jurich back to have a street named after him. They have invited Rick Pitino to return as a special guest, and he will when his schedule allows. U of L did the right thing by inviting them back, and I applaud them for it.

There's another guy that same former administration hastily erased. John Schnatter and Papa Johns were kicked to the curb and disassociated with U of L. I think it's time to reconcile with John Schnatter too.

John Schnatter has given so much to Louisville, from his contributions to the Parklands at Floyds Fork to the zoo. The football stadium simply wouldn't have been built without him. He has made tens of thousands of people's lives better from the jobs he created to the 5,000 small businesses he created with Papa Johns franchises.

Bottom line? I would like to see U of L welcome John back and make him part of the university again. I don't think I'm alone either.

I'm Bill Lamb, and that's my Point of View.
