Ricky Jones, the chair of the U of L Department of Pan-African Studies, is a strong advocate for DEI. There are some state legislators who don't share his views, so, last week, he called them all white supremacists. He doesn't know what's in their hearts. He just knows they don't agree with him.

I'm disappointed that Ricky would accelerate his rhetoric to such hateful and hurtful extremes.

Here's what our viewers had to say:

I did not necessarily agree with the way that Mr. Jones handled the situation, although I do understand and am very sympathetic as a black man, but I absolutely do not think your television broadcast or opinion of Mr. Jones putting it out there help the situation. And I think that that was just as bad judgment as Mr. Jones used.

I have, children, different races, And it shouldn't matter that if your opinion is different, that doesn't make you racist.

You are 100% correct. Why is everybody trying to divide people? He should've never said that.

I do not agree that Ricky Jones was being vitriolic. By and large, we are being pushed back further and further, and if people like Ricky Jones speak up, that puts our issues to the forefront.
