Last week, President Trump commuted George Santos' prison sentence less than three months into a seven-year term. For the life of me, I don't know what the president had to gain by doing that.
Nobody of any consequence was asking for a get-out-of-jail-free card for Santos. Nobody claimed he was wrongly convicted. Yet our president released him because he was "100% for Trump" when he was in Congress. To me, this decision is indefensible.
Here's what our viewers had to say:
"I agree with Mr. Lamb. Letting Santos out was a big wrong move."
"That's not surprising. It's a convicted felon pardoning another convicted felon. You can expect more of it."
"Mr. Lamb, I don't know why you have a problem with Trump letting George Santos out of prison. He let 1,500 out that he had attack the Capitol, where people died."
"I agree with Mr. Lamb. Santos should not have been released and he should be tried and locked up again."
"I completely agree with Bill Lamb's opinion on Santos' pardon from President Trump. It makes no sense. The only benefit to Trump, perhaps, is that Santos was a pro-Trumper."
"When you pardon 1,500-1,600 people from storming the Capitol, what's one more criminal?"
