Pat Kelsey is just a basketball coach at U of L. If you don't plan to coach basketball, what could you learn from a guy who is just a basketball coach?

It turns out, a lot — even if you want to be successful at something other than basketball.

We can learn that hard work is a choice, not a talent. There is really no substitute for hard work. Although most of us would like to have the success Pat Kelsey is having, few will work as hard for it as he does.

We can learn about persistence. He knows that you can't win them all. No one ever has, but how do you respond when you get knocked down? You come back again and again.

He shows us that boundless enthusiasm and high energy are contagious. They transfer easily to others. And if others are excited, they can push you to success.

Coach Kelsey genuinely cares about his players, and they know it. If you help others achieve their goals, they will make sure you achieve yours.

And Pat Kelsey preaches to never delay gratitude. If you're blessed, if you're in a good position, if someone gave you a chance, show your gratitude every day.

Think about what other lessons you might've learned from watching Coach Kelsey this year and call us.
